One Good Thing: The sun might come out today
One Funny Thing: The irony of Beast being in Dallas this week is pretty funny.
One Weird Thing: I'm not freaking out. I should be. I'm not.
One God Thing: "But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian, for in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ." Gal. 3:25-27
One Music Thing: The Arcade Fire, "Intervention" (because above all, irony and serendipity abide)
One Book Thing: One? Hah. Angelina Ballerina, ahoy.

Friday morning
One Good Thing: Affection.
"Talk not of wasted affection. Affection never was wasted." [Henry Wadsworth Longfellow]
One Funny Thing: Hope.
“You will soon have an opportunity to make a change to your advantage.” [fortune cookie fortune]
One Weird Thing: Unrequited interest.
"The tragedy of love is indifference." [W. Somerset Maugham (1874-1965)]
One God Thing: Faith.
4 For a thousand years in your sight
are like yesterday when it is past,
or like a watch in the night.
5 You sweep them away; they are like a dream,
like grass that is renewed in the morning;
6 in the morning it flourishes and is renewed;
in the evening it fades and withers.
[Psalms 90: 4-6]
One Music Thing: Dreams.
"Do you feel my strength when you call my name?"
["Love's Light," by Vertical Horizon, from There and Back Again]
One Book Thing: Anticipation.
This weekend I get to place an Amazon.com order--all for me!
"Talk of the happiness of getting a prize in a lottery! What is that to the opening of a box of books?" [Robert Southey]

Wednesday morning
One Good Thing: The sun is supposed to come out, briefly, today. Finally.
One Funny Thing: ...uh... I can't think of anything right now. It's ironic that I have to wait 10 minutes to leave for work so that I don't spend that 10 minutes sitting in traffic. I'll get to work at the same time either way. School buses, etc.
One Weird Thing: In spite of the health issues whirling around us right now, I spent the night worrying about one of the youth group girls. Transference? Not that the concerns aren't real, it just seems like a weird priority for my brain
One God Thing: "But I call to God,
and the LORD saves me.
Evening, morning and noon
I cry out in distress,
and he hears my voice." Psalm 55:16-17
One Music Thing: In my head, I'm hearing "How long..." as sung by Bono.
One Book Thing: I've got four books going--five, if you count the one on CD--right now.

Tuesday afternoon
One Good Thing: UM defeats Florida, 41-35, in the Capitol One Bowl -- Lloyd Carr's final game as UM head coach.
One Funny Thing: I hadn't realized that Michigan made it to a bowl game this year, until I turned on the TV this afternoon at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. Bad fan....
One Weird Thing: It's colder than [bleep] outside and still snowing. I literally don't remember the last day that was snow-free.
One God Thing: "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down his life for his friends."
[John 15:13]
One Music Thing: Leona Naess -- introduced to me by my friend Gayle -- is awesome. Look for the song "Chase" from Comatised.
One Book Thing: I got another book for Christmas! Repair, a Pulitzer Prize-winning collection of poetry by C.K. Williams, arrived while I was away. Yay!
