Saturday morning

One Good Thing: Queen Anne's lace on the roadside
One Funny Thing: Sparky: "I like cows." [you have to be there]
One Weird Thing: Grey sky this morning. Hopefully that means rain...?

One God Thing: "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I am not afraid; what can flesh do to me?" Psalm 56:3-4
One Music Thing: Christian Rap? Yes; really.
One Book Thing: Thinking about asking my friend with the new bookstore if she needs help covering hours.

Thursday morning

One Good Thing: Yesterday's sky in the afternoon and evening. Every color of the rainbow in the clouds.
One Funny Thing: I brought Krispy Kremes to work today, forgetting that last night was the library's bake sale at the city band concert. We have LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of sugar to eat today. Hyper Library Staff Alert!
One Weird Thing: A male receptionist? Well, why does that sound weird?

One God Thing: "The God-rebel tunes in to sedition--all ears, eager to sin. He has no regard for God, he stands insolent before him." Psalm 36:1 [Message version]{I'm thinking of London...}
One Music Thing: I'm a little behind the curve: I first heard Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" a couple of days ago. Nice. I like.
One Book Thing: Someone just donated the whole Harry Potter run to us. All six books. Hmmm, what does that portend about this particular reader?

Wednesday noon

One Good Thing: It's raining. Hopefully a nice soaking rain to help the grass look less dead around here.
One Funny Thing: Something Potter-ly funny, but ONLY IF YOU'VE READ THE BOOK ALREADY. Don't blame me for spoiling the ending if you click. (thx, BadAssLn)
One Weird Thing: Sparky's friend has indeed vacated, leaving toys in the newly sodded and mulched yard. There isn't a stick of furniture in the house, nor are there curtains at the windows. Their phone is still working, though the answering machine isn't plugged in anymore. WPP? Or just deadbeats? They seemed too nice to be the latter. The former--I've read too many mysteries, I think!

One God Thing: "Blessed be your good sense, and blessed be you." 1 Samuel 25:33
One Music Thing: Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes
His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand
The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake (John Denver "Rocky Mountain High")
One Book Thing: I'm doing a contents list for our copy of Biographical Dictionary of American Cult and Sect Leaders by J. Gordon Melton (1986). Wackiness is not a late-twentieth century invention...."Oom the Magnificent" anyone?

Tuesday morning

One Good Thing: Work
One Funny Thing: "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" (Monty Python from the Life of Brian soundtrack. I'm trying like hell not to whistle along....)
One Weird Thing: Sparky's friend Jake's house looks vacant. Have they moved, no forwarding info?

One God Thing: see below
One Music Thing:"And I believe what I believe is what makes me what I am / I did not make it no it is making me" (Rich Mullins, "Creed")
One Book Thing: I have to get this cart of mythology books moved; I'm tired of looking at drawings of gods.

Monday night

One Good Thing: My reading blog is caught up, for a change
One Funny Thing:
Violet Beauregarde: I'm Violet Beauregarde.
Willy Wonka: I. Don't. Care.
One Weird Thing: Well, Willie Wonka is pret-ty weird

One God Thing: "Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous, and give thanks to his holy name!" -- Psalm 97:12
One Music Thing: The Oompa-Loompa song about Veruca Salt
One Book Thing: Uhm, see "One Good Thing" above

Monday morning

One Good Thing: I've RSSified this thing.
One Funny Thing: [can't think of anything funny]
One Weird Thing: The crickets are singing. Isn't July 18 kind of early for that?

One God Thing: "Can a mother forget the infant at her breast, walk away from the baby she bore? But even if mothers forget, I'd never forget you--never. Look, I've written your names on the backs of my hands." --Isaiah 49:15-16 (The Message)
One Music Thing: "A Chorus Line" last night. I love those songs. And the actors could really sing!
One Book Thing: I'm reading Harry Potter, along with three other books.

One Good Thing: The first wave of Harry Potter hysteria is over
One Funny Thing: Thirteen-year-old females hopping up and down at 00:00:02 this morning because "Harry Potter's Out!"
One Weird Thing: Carrots, like milk, leave traces around mouths. Especially if one eats a lot of them.

One God Thing: "I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety." --Psalm 4:8
One Music Thing: [no music today]
One Book Thing: Sparky finished HP#6 in just 7 hours today, reading straight through. I've been told not to read ahead or it'll ruin the story.

One Good Thing: My son rocks
One Funny Thing: [Nothing much funny today]
One Weird Thing: Do cows always face the same way when they are eating?

One God Thing: "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." --Psalm 119:11 (KJV)
One Music Thing: I need music. If I don't have music my soul weeps.
One Book Thing: Harry Potter is here, it's cataloged, and it's hidden away again.
