One Good Thing: Beast is out of the hospital.
One Funny Thing: Eddie Izzard
One Weird Thing: Why do weeds grow in a drought, when everything else is dying?

One God Thing: Psalm 63:1-2 --
"O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water."
One Music Thing: Rich Mullins: "Oh God, you are my God / And I will ever praise you."

One Weird Thing: [see above] I don't know why it makes us laugh, but it does.

One God Thing: "Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me." --Mark 9:37
One Music Thing: I caved and signed up for Entertainment Weekly's Listen2This online thingy. I'll let you know if it's worthwhile.
One Book Thing: I'm starting to look for Christmas presents for everyone. I think I'm going hog-wild this year and getting books for everyone (I feel like Tevye: drinks for everyone!).

One Good Thing: The sun is out. It's Friday. Take your pick.
One Funny Thing: Eddie Izzard, on Launchcast. OMG---funny!
One Weird Thing: My son. Is weird. And makes me nuts.

One God Thing: And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." --Mark 9:24
One Music Thing: How can you not be happy when you hear these lyrics:
I've got sunshine on a cloudy day.
When it's cold outside I've got the month of May.
One Book Thing:My first reference question of the day, from a 20ish girl in the kids' room. She needed The Complete Book of Flower Fairies by Cicely Mary Barker. Why? To take to the tattoo parlor to show the guy exactly what she wants on her body.

One Good Thing: I got here [work] early today. That means I can go home early. Like 2:30ish.
One Funny Thing: ...in an email from our system head-techie-person: "Just the word "upgrade" seems to cause panic, fainting and uncontrollable pants-wetting among some of the library staff. That's why I usually whisper the word."
One Weird Thing: What psychological blip would make someone on a bike play chicken with a Honda?? I nearly found out what a huge splot a guy on a ten-speed would make on/under The Beast's car yesterday. Luckily I missed, but the guy glared at me anyway.

One God Thing: "We have all these people all around us, proving to us that we should believe God. So then, like people running a race, we must take off everything that is heavy. We must put off all wrong, wrong things that get in our way. We must not stop running until we reach the mark that has been put in front of us." Hebrews 12:1
One Music Thing: Transglobal Underground. Listen to them. They are, depending on the song: funny, hypnotic, mindlessly danceable, thought-provoking. On occasion, it all coalesces in one song.
One Book Thing: Your Call Is Important To Us: The Truth About Bullshit (Laura Penny)

Tuesday evening

One Good Thing: I made my mom laugh when I called her yesterday afternoon. No, I made her giggle. I deserve a diamond or a bouquet of roses for that feat.
One Funny Thing: People. People are very funny.
One Weird Thing: When a woman gets her hair cut--and, ok, colored back to no-gray-streaks--just a little, it's a little disconcerting to have everyone mention how great she looks now. I wonder just how bad I looked before...?

One God Thing: "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
(or, in the Worldwide English translation: "I know this. Death, life, angels, rulers, things happening now, things that will happen, high things, low things; nothing else in all the world can come between us and God's love in Christ Jesus our Lord.")
One Music Thing: (no music today--I was being social on my first day back at work)
One Book Thing: We know own 13 copies of HBP (the new Harry Potter book). Three of them are donations. I guess three people really didn't like that ending!

One Weird Thing: In the guest book for the house we rented last week there were multiple comments about how the hot-tub smelled like "70 lbs. of ass." What does that smell like exactly? Well, surprisingly, when we got in the hot tub, I found out. Eeeuw.

One God Thing: "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." (Psalm 73:26)

Thursday morning

One Good Thing: Yesterday's sky in the afternoon and evening. Every color of the rainbow in the clouds.

One Weird Thing: A male receptionist? Well, why does that sound weird?

One God Thing: "The God-rebel tunes in to sedition--all ears, eager to sin. He has no regard for God, he stands insolent before him." Psalm 36:1 [Message version]{I'm thinking of London...}
One Music Thing: I'm a little behind the curve: I first heard Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" a couple of days ago. Nice. I like.
One Book Thing: Someone just donated the whole Harry Potter run to us. All six books. Hmmm, what does that portend about this particular reader?

Wednesday noon

One Good Thing: It's raining. Hopefully a nice soaking rain to help the grass look less dead around here.
One Funny Thing: Something Potter-ly funny, but ONLY IF YOU'VE READ THE BOOK ALREADY. Don't blame me for spoiling the ending if you click. (thx, BadAssLn)
One Weird Thing: Sparky's friend has indeed vacated, leaving toys in the newly sodded and mulched yard. There isn't a stick of furniture in the house, nor are there curtains at the windows. Their phone is still working, though the answering machine isn't plugged in anymore. WPP? Or just deadbeats? They seemed too nice to be the latter. The former--I've read too many mysteries, I think!

One Music Thing: Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams
Seeking grace in every step he takes

Monday night

One Good Thing: My reading blog is caught up, for a change

One Book Thing: Uhm, see "One Good Thing" above

Monday morning

One Good Thing: I've RSSified this thing.
One Funny Thing: [can't think of anything funny]
One Weird Thing: The crickets are singing. Isn't July 18 kind of early for that?

One God Thing: "Can a mother forget the infant at her breast, walk away from the baby she bore? But even if mothers forget, I'd never forget you--never. Look, I've written your names on the backs of my hands." --Isaiah 49:15-16 (The Message)
One Music Thing: "A Chorus Line" last night. I love those songs. And the actors could really sing!
One Book Thing: I'm reading Harry Potter, along with three other books.

One Good Thing: The first wave of Harry Potter hysteria is over
One Funny Thing: Thirteen-year-old females hopping up and down at 00:00:02 this morning because "Harry Potter's Out!"

One Music Thing: [no music today]
One Book Thing: Sparky finished HP#6 in just 7 hours today, reading straight through. I've been told not to read ahead or it'll ruin the story.

One Funny Thing: [Nothing much funny today]
One Weird Thing: Do cows always face the same way when they are eating?

One God Thing: "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." --Psalm 119:11 (KJV)
One Music Thing: I need music. If I don't have music my soul weeps.
One Book Thing: Harry Potter is here, it's cataloged, and it's hidden away again.
